Giving Thanks

First of all, THANK YOU Rocket community for your gifts of service, baked goods, cases of waters & soda and the occasional snack size package of chips. #PfallPfreakOut2015 is finally in the books, and we will count it among our greatest accomplishments. "Godzilla El Nino" can't hold us down!

We're hearing that the kids were delighted with "Plan B" indoors. Mr. O'Connor even let us drag a couple of inflatable bounce houses into the cafeteria. And how about that Glow Dance Party?!?  Mr. Bennett kept the kids entertained as The Mad Hatter, and Mr. Ewing had students in stitches in the Fortune Teller room. Give a big round of applause to our art teacher, Ms. Alyea, for the stunning and creative grade-level art debuted at this year's silent auction. They were phenomenal! A huge thank you to our tirelessly dedicated PPO team, teachers, HHS volunteers, parents and community members.  Another giant shout out to our sister school, Merchison Elementary, that graciously donated tons of leftover candy & Halloween treats from their Mustang Round Up just the week before.  It was truly a community effort making this Pfreak Out a success!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we're calling on your culinary talents once more. Each year, we send ~85 teachers & staff home with a baked or bought pastry for the holiday. It's a great way for our community to show gratitude, and ignite the spirit of Thanksgiving in our smallest of Rowe Lane Rockets! We still NEED ~60 more treats to fulfill this annual tradition. Please jump in! Have your neighbors over for a baking party or cookie swap, or perhaps a night in with your littles demonstrating the joys of baking and gifts of giving. Some might say this is the busiest month of the school year - second only to May as graduation activities gear up and the year winds down.  We need your help in a MIGHTY BIG way.  

Seriously.  If you do nothing else the entire year, please plug into one of the opportunities we need you this month.  It has a ripple effect on our impact to the cool stuff we can do for our kids, our teachers and our school resources throughout the entire school year.

Hit the Ground Running

Whew! We are fully engaged in school and extracurricular activities around here. How about you? Now that we've all had a nice, cool drink from the fire hose, let's talk Fall.

Firstly, thank you to everyone that had a chance to participate in our first two Spirit Nights of the year. Don't worry if you missed it. We have plenty more events at new locations planned ahead!

We are rebooting our annual October 24th (4-8pm) Pfall Pfreak Out festival this year, and need a handful of parents to dedicate a small amount of time leading certain events. This is a great way to meet your neighbors and delight the kids while giving back to our school. Without these last few volunteers, these attractions will end up being cancelled. Please consider co-chairing with a friend! The team meets weekly on Mondays as your schedule permits to socialize and help where needed. Welcome Summer.....And Our New Team!!

We are so close to the finish line of another stellar year for our Rowe Lane Rockets. Pat yourselves on the back for a successful year of enriching and enlightening our children!!

We know your time is at a premium in the home stretch, so we'll keep our first post to our top three "need to know" items.

1. Please take our very first End of Year Survey. The PTO Board will be meeting with school administration over the Summer to plan for next year. We need your feedback on what works, what doesn't and any inspirations you can share. New ideas are already flowing! Again, the survey can be found here: https://goo.gl/cYmNMf
2. We will not renew our current website domain. Instead, the PTO will be added to Mr. O'Connor's weekly blog update , which also includes a link directly back to this page. Our blog will contain all the valuable features once hosted on our website - documentation, communication and contact lists. We hope you enjoy this format change, and thank Mr. O'Connor for his leadership. Visit us any time on Facebook and our calendar for frequent photos & reminders as well.
3. Last but certainly not least, we want to thank our outgoing Board and Chairs for the 2014-15 school year. Your service to our students and staff has been invaluable. With that, we welcome a new team for the 2015-16 school year.

• Sign In, Thank a Teacher, Submit. Boom! $25 is donated directly to our school. (5/22 Update: Target has reached the funding cap. We will report our earnings once released.)
